What is a 3D ultrasound of the fetus?
We recommend a 3D ultrasound between weeks 24 and 32. The gynaecologist starts the examination with a medical assessment of pregnancy development. That is, measurements of the fetus' size and blood circulation to the uterus and, if necessary, the umbilical artery and evaluation of the amount of amniotic fluid. Then we look at the fetus with 3D/4D technology.
There will always be physical limitations to what one can see with ultrasound, both in 2D and 3D modes. If the doctor does not get the fetus presented well enough in 3D/4D mode, the customer only pays for a regular ultrasound examination.
